Even as State Government claimed to have opened several roads by carrying out relief operation on a war-footing, several roads in disaster-affected areas are still blocked. Government officials, however, claimed that work is in progress to rebuild the damaged roads.
In Rudrprayag, Rishikesh-Kedarnath NH till Agastmuni, Guptkashi-Mayali and Gopeshwar-Kund road are open for transportation. However, 16 roads are obstructed in the district due to debris. Karnaprayag-Ranikhet-Kathgoadam, Gopeshwar-Ukhimath and Karnaprayag-Pokhri roads have also been opened for transportation in Chamoli district.
Total 57 roads are obstructed due to debris in the district including Rishikesh-Badrinath NH in langasu and Pagalnala, Gopeshwar-Pokhri road in Hafla, Narayanbagad-Tharali, Nandprayag-Ghat and Simli-Narayanbagad roads. Bageshwar-Almora, Kapkot-Bageshwar-Shama and Kapkot-Pindar roads in Bageshwar, Rishikesh -Gangotri NH till Gangori, Dharasu-Badkot, Chinyalisaud-Suwakholi-Mussoorie-Dehradun, Uttarkashi-Dohtari, Damta-Dehradun and Badkot-Vikas Nagar roads are open for transportation.
Rishikesh-Yamunotri NH is obstructed due to debris in Wadia. Work is being carried out at warfooting level to open the roads. Pithoragarh-Bugalchina-Thal, Pithoragarh-Jhulaghat and Tejam-Sama (Kapkot) road are completely open. Ghaat-Pitthoragarh-Augla-Jauljeevi-Baluwakot-Dharchula NH, else Baluwakot-Dharchula road is open for light Motor Vehicle.
Debris, however, has blocked Thal-Munsyari road in Hardiyanala & Ratigadh, Jauljeevi-Madkot road in Teli & Mori, Munsyari-Madkot road in Kenthi Band and Tawaghat-Sovla road. Dharchula-Tawaghaat-Pangla NH at Kulagadh, Elagadh and Tawaghat and Kanjoti-Narayan Ashram road at Kanjyoti are obstructed since Bridge has broken. Khairna-Ranikhet-Almora NH, Almora-Haldwani NH, Khairna-Almora NH, Almora-Ghaat-Pitthoragarh road and Bageshwar-Almora road are open for transportation. Choukhutiya-Bachuaban motor road is obstructed due to debris.
Champawat: Seven rural motor roads are obstructed in the district; work is progress to rebuild them. Haridwar: 41 disaster-affected roads were restarted out of 44 roads. Three roads are still obstructed. Work is in progress to rebuild and open the roads. Pauri: Pauri-Satpuli, Pauri-Devprayag, Pauri-Sringar, Kalagarh-Kotdwar and Pauri-Dugadda-Nazibabad roads are open for transportation along with Ramnagar-Buwakhal NH.
Tehri: Chamba-Rishikesh, Chamba-Mussoorie, Ghansali-Tipri-New Tehri, and Ghansali-Tipri-Devprayag roads are open for transportation. Cham-Kandisaud and Chamba-Uttarkashi roads are obstructed in the district. Nainital: Bhawali-Almora NH, Haldwani-Almora NH and Bhujan-Betalghat-Garjia road are open for transportation. Five rural motor roads are obstructed in the district. In Dehradun, Chakrata-lakhamandal-Barnigad, Kalsi-Chakrata, Chakrata-Yamuna Bridge and other major roads are open for transportation.
Eight motor roads of Chakrata and 19 motor roads of Sahiya are obstructed along with Mussoorie-Tyuni-New Tehri-Kirtinagar road. Officials claimed that construction work is on at war footing.
