Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Kewal Khurana said that police has been deployed at important places to prevent untoward incidents during Holi festival in the district.
In view of the festival, he convened a meeting on Tuesday evening with circle officers, inspectors and sub-inspectors and directed them to be alert in the area of their jurisdiction apart from ensuring that additional force is deployed at sensitive areas. Khurana appealed the Dehradun residents to celebrate the festival peacefully. No one will be allowed to take law in their hands. He directed the police to complete their assigned duty till the end of this festival. Negligence of duty will not be tolerated at any cost. Khurana said that additional force has been deployed in the areas with mixed population.
