The Nainital district administration has asked all the respective SDMs to conduct regular checking in schools and ensure that children are getting proper mid-day meal there.
The SDMs are supposed to conduct field visits of the schools and find out how the food is stored. More importantly, they also need to check the quality of the food which has been supplied for preparing mid-day meal in schools, said Arvind Singh Hyanki, District Magistrate, Nainital. At the same time hygienic aspect has also to be taken care of. The officials concerned also need to find out whether cleanliness has been maintained in and around the kitchen in schools or not, asked the District Magistrate.
In case any carelessness is found in following proper way in cooking the mid-day meal, the SDMs should also take necessary action so that proper meal could be served to the children, maintained Hyanki.
