PNS

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has ordered an inquiry into the incident in which some journalists had alleged that policemen manhandled them during  the Great Khali Returns Show held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Raipur on Sunday. The Garhwal Commissioner, C S Napalchiyal would head  the inquiry.

Ruckus was created in the stadium at end of Khali show as some media persons were allegedly attacked by some policemen on duty. The media persons protested at the site and demanded that the policemen involved in the assault should be suspended.  In an attempt to sooth agitated mediapersons, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun, Sadanand Date had sent one fire services officer to police line in the matter but the journalists were not satisfied and demanded suspension of the culprits.  A delegation of Journalists met Chief Minister’s industries advisor, Ranjit Rawat on Thursday and handed over some video clips and photographs in which some policemen were seen assaulting mediapersons.
