'School syllabus should have biographies of State's martyrs'

PNS

The Member of Parliament (MP) from Rajya Sabha and BJP leader, Tarun Vijay, has said that the biographies of brave soldiers and martyrs from the State should find a place in the curriculum of students of Uttarakhand.

Paying homage to lt Col Rajesh Gulati on his first death anniversary, the BJP leader said that it is unfortunate that we forget our martyrs and the schools, where such martyrs had studied also maintain a silence by not observing their martyrdom day.

“We must have such an observance to inspire young generations to join armed forces,’’ he said. It is worth mentioning here that Dehradun resident Col Gulati attained martyrdom while fighting militants in Kashmir on February 11 last year. The BJP MP said that he will try to build a suitable memorial for Col Gulati in State capital.
