Personnel employed for door-to-door collection of garbage went on a strike and demonstration to protest against suspension of sanitation supervisors for not meeting the monthly collection target. The protesting workers under the banner of Karmachari Samasya Nivaran Sangharsh Sangathan (KSNSS) submitted a memorandum to the Mukhya Nagar Adhikari demanding that a vehicle be provided for garbage collection in each of the 60 municipal wards, out of operation vehicles be repaired, suspended supervisors be reinstated, the monthly collection target for supervisors be fixed on basis of the bills and increase in salary of all personnel among other demands.
