A year has passed after daylight brutal murder of Pushpa Saklani, wife of senior advocate OP Saklani, but the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has yet to make any kind of headway in this case.
OP Saklani alleged that due to political patronisation, the CBI has not taken any action against the alleged mastermind of this murder case and escaped criminal Billa is yet to be arrested.
Saklani said that he has decided to hold a day-long demonstration at Collectorate to protest against CBI’s laxity in the murder case of Pushpa Saklani on Tuesday.
Saklani said that exactly a year ago, his wife was brutally murdered by unidentified persons at noon on October 16, 2012. Following this, a case under appropriate sections of IPC was registered in the Kotwali Police Station.
Dissatisfied with Dehradun police’s report in this matter, Saklani had approached the High Court seeking CBI inquiry in the murder.
High Court had ordered CBI inquiry over this matter. Saklani alleged that had CBI investigated his recorded statement or conducted scientific investigation, the real culprit of this case could have been jailed by now.
Saklani demanded, "I should be allowed to meet CBI director; I should be given a photo copy of my statement recorded under 161 of CrPC by CBI so that I can understand whether my statement was recorded correctly; being the husband of deceased, I have the right to know about the progress in the investigation. CBI inquiry team members should be changed and new team should be formed," he demanding while also alleging that due to political pressure, CBI has not made any headway in this matter.
