Praveen Dara ensured that the election was held strictly according to the norms. It was ensured that every voter came with his/her registration copy. It may be mentioned that 2013-14 body of the District Bar Association,
Haridwar was dissolved in the first week of December. DBA Haridwar having total registered strength of 501 lawyers, 25 members are in the race for different positions. Out of them, there are only two female lawyers trying their fortune in the election for the executive body membership. Rakesh Chauhan and Sudhir Tyagi are in the reckoning for the post of the president. For the post of the vice - president , there are several aspirants like Ravi Bushan Chawla, Pankaj Sharma, SK Pal and Tanveer
Bharti. For the post of the secretary, Subash Rana, Ravinder Saighal and Raizual Hasan are in the race. For the post of the joint secretary, the contest is between Rakesh Kumar Saini and Anurag Chaudhary. Election started at sharp 10 in the morning. As the day advanced the number of voters increased.
