The RIMC Soccer Cup would start from August 11, 2017. This year would be the fifteenth edition of the tournament.
A communiqué from the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) said that 14 Teams have confirmed their participation in the event. All 14 Teams have been divided into 4 groups, two groups comprise three teams each and two groups comprise four teams each. The matches shall be played on the league -cum-Knock Out basis.
The opening ceremony of the tournament would be held at the Pavilion Grounds. The opening match would be played between the defending champions, RIMC and Col Brown School of Dehradun.
The Commandant of the RIMC, Col Vivek Sharma said , “In the previous RIMC Soccer tournament the RIMC has received an overwhelming response from various teams and this year too, as the proud hosts, we look forward to a slick organising of this competition that shall provide great impetus to the game of Soccer.”
The tournament would end on August 16. The Governor of Uttarakhand KK Paul would be present during the closing ceremony.
