In support of their demand to release the result of the lecturer Teacher (lT) examination, large number of unemployed youths staged a protest meeting outside the residence of State Education Minister Mantri Prasad Naithani on Tuesday.
Infuriated for not releasing the result of the examination held in the month of March this year the aspirants assembled near the residence of education minister at Yamuna Colony and engaged in slogan shouting against the state government. The aspirants have also constituted a coordination committee to put pressure on the State Government for speedy release the results. To fill 931 posts of lT in various Inter colleges and high schools of the state the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education had released an advertisement in the month of February last year. After much delay the examination was finally held on March 29 this year. However to the discomfort of the aspirants the result of the examination is yet to be released by the board. It is learnt that the department is planning to complete the process of internal promotion of the teachers before releasing the result of lT examination and it is causing the delay in the release of the result.
The Garhwal coordinator of committee of the aspirants, Devendra Bisht said that the unemployed youths would be forced to intensify their agitation if the results of the examination are not released soon. He said that it is unfortunate that the education minister refused to listen the grievance of the unemployed youths. The aspirants alleged that they are being misled by both the education directorate and the Uttarakhand board of technical education as both of them are blaming each other for the delay.
