State BJP president Ajay Bhatt thanked the Centre on Thursday for ridding the State of the grave financial crisis by having the vote on account passed in Parliament for the next four months.
Asked to comment on the deposed CM Harish Rawat vowing to do a day’s fast protesting against the Centre rejecting the budget duly passed in the House on March 18, the BJP leader said Harish Rawat is reducing himself to a butt of joke. “We are well in a position to form the Government in the State. Now, we are soliciting the people’s opinion,” he said, adding that Rawat was squarely responsible for the crisis the State had landed in.
“Projecting himself as an innocence wounded would not help him get away with what he has done as the CM of the State. His political career says he goes out of his way not to allow others rest in peace while in power. He is hunger for power incarnate. Now he is facing the retributive justice. Four tall leaders of his own party who were members of his kitchen cabinet brought down the Government. He later triggered the financial crisis in his desperate bid to cling to power. later what the sting video showed completes the circle of his vicious bid to survive ,” Bhatt said.
Defending PM Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, Bhatt said that the duo was being vilified for nothing. “They have not precipitated the crisis,” he said, adding that they had not been aware of the intrigues ripening against him in the State Congress roost.
Commenting on BJP senior leader Satpal Maharaj sending advisory for the former CM Bhagat Singh Koshyari and former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat, Bhatt said that he would seek explanation from him on the matter in his capacity as the head of the State party.
