Resentment is brewing among the ayurveda doctors of state health services on the delay in receipt of Non Practice Allowance (NPA).
The Provincial Ayurvedic Medical Practitioners Association, the association of ayurveda doctors has threatened agitation if their genuine demands are ignored further.
The President of the Association, Dr K S Napalchiyal said that the state government had accepted the long pending demand of NPA for Ayush doctors. A Government Order (GO) for the same was also issued in the month of January 2017. However to the chagrin of Ayush doctors the GO is yet to be implemented. Dr Napalchiyal said that a delegation of the association met the Ayush minister Harak Singh Rawat recently where it was disclosed that the NPA is not being disbursed due to some technical problems raised by the finance department however the problem would be soon removed. He said that the association wants that the government should restructure the departmental cadre without delay so that NPA and other benefits are provided without any problem.
The President of the association that they have decided to give time of one month to the government to heed to the demands failing which the association would be forced to restart their agitation.
There are about 650 Ayurveda, 150 Homeopath and 06 Yunani doctors in the state health services.
The association of Ayurveda doctors was on path of the agitation in December last year on the demands of Assured Career Progression (ACP), Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) and reorganization of department structure and appointment of a person of Ayurveda services on the post of director.
