The High Court of Uttarakhand has directed that the repair work on the subsided lower Mall Road should be completed by September 17. Issuing this directing to the
Nainital district administration, the high court also stated that the executing agency should work 24 hours in order to complete the work on time. The high court division bench of justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Lokpal Singh issued these directions while hearing on a public interest litigation filed by Nainital resident Ajay Rawat. The division bench directed that repairing of the subsided stretch of the road should be speeded up. It will be recalled that a portion of the lower Mall Road in Nainital had subsided on August 18.
