Recently built roads giving way to potholes following rains

PNS

The callous approach of the department concerned can be gauged from the fact that the recently constructed roads have started deteriorating after the recent spells of rain in the district. Apart from the potholes that have emerged on the newly constructed stretches of Haridwar Road, unattended construction materials on stretches of different roads in the State capital are inviting mishaps.

Due to the lack of coordination and callous approach of the nodal agency for bringing the various beneficiary projects to the ground level in the given time frame, the commuters are facing hardship. Even though regular instructions have been given to nodal agencies to complete all the beneficiary projects in the given time frame but the department concerned is seems to be least bothered to take effective steps for repairing the lines. Condition of the roads is so worst that it has turned extremely difficult for the commuters to traverse from one place to another.

The situation turned extremely worst at night. Well established sources revealed that lack of coordination between different nodal agencies exaggerates the problem. In a shocking development, it has been found that the recently constructed road at Haridwar road has started giving up before its stipulated given time frame. Additionally, unattended huge concrete slabs on Balbeer Road are also inviting accidents and it has turned extremely difficult for the commuters to traverse at night. One of the department sources who wished anonymity told The Pioneer that funds are already released to nodal agencies for repairing dug roads across the State.

He also ruled out the use of sub-standard materials while repairing the roads at the different stretches of the capital city and assured that all the pending projects would be completed in the given time frame. He told that strict departmental action would be taken those nodal agencies who fail to complete all the pending projects in the given time frame.
