PNS

Irked with the slow pace of the ration card digitisation process, Champawat district administration has asked the officials concerned to achieve the target of cent percent digitisation in the district by the end of February. Despite the Government’s emphasis on timely completion of the digitisation process, only 13,600 out of 33,585 ration cards have been digitised so far in the district, the officials said. Out of these 33,585 ration cards, there are maximum 13011 ration cards in Champawat block , 6713 in Paati block, 6424 in lohaghat block, 4017 in Barakot block  and  3420 in the urban areas of the Champawat district, the officials concerned said.

Mention worthy, to bring about transparency in its functioning and to ease inconvenience to the people, the State Government has decided to conduct all its business transactions online from this year. The digitisation of the ration cards may also come in handy to maintain transparency in the PDS which is one of the most important departments which allows people to get food items at subsidised rates.
