On account of the violence and rampage in his own home state Haryana by the Jat community, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev is perturbed and he has demanded from the Prime Minister to act in the matter. He says that if needed, agitation should be done pressing one’s demands but not at the cost of innocent lives.
He has appealed the State and the Union Governments to frame a policy and find a permanent solution in “nyaypurna aur samgra” (lawful and holistic) way so that no community feels that injustice has been meted out to them.
Ramdev showed his support in a “conditional way” to the Jat quota andolan in Haryana State for which he is the brand ambassador. Speaking to media persons after his business meet with distributors who had come from across the country in Patanjali Yog peeth on Sunday, Baba Ramdev said, “Jis tarah ka arajakta ka mahaul bana hai aur logon ki jaanein gayi hai, nirdosh mar rahe mere liye ati dukh ki bat hai. Awashyakta padne par teevra andolan karke apna haq lein parantu kisi bekusur ki jaan nahi jaani chahiye.” (The atmosphere prevailing in the state was pathetic. If needed one must protest, agitate for rights but not at the cost of loss to life or damage to private or Governmental property).
Ramdev said that he has watched and observed each and every move on the Jat quota andolan through media, whosoever whether an official or cop or student is guilty, instant action must be taken against him.
Care for Haryana’s prestige
Touched by the whole episode, Ramdev said, “We must be concerned with the prestige of the State which is land of lord Krishna and many valorous revolutionaries. The land has seen many revolutions but they were fighting from foreign invaders like Britishers or Mughals.” He further added that a lawful and holistic solution must be reached at by the supreme leadership.
“It is an extremely sensitive issue and the solution must be sought out immediately by the political leadership. We have written to the PM for action on the same and the State Chief Ministers must find a solution to the problem otherwise the damage would be irrepairable.”
He also requested the electronic media that they must not indulge in such debates as who must get reservation and who should not.
When asked to comment on the anti-national sloganeering issue in JNU of Delhi, Ramdev said, apart from freedom of expression, a uniform policy must be framed which maintains national integrity and muti-cultural fabric of the country, India.
