Apparently enthused by Prime Minister Narendra Modi raising the issue of atrocities in Baluchistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in his Independence Day speech delivered from the ramparts of the Red Fort in Delhi, yoga guru Baba Ramdev sought a vigorous campaign to liberate PoK from the clutches of Pakistan.
This is, however, his known stance on the emotive issue. "Till the time Modi does not hoist the national flag right in the PoK, the tribute to the martyrs would remain incomplete," he said while addressing a gathering of around 15,000 employees of various industrial units of Divya Yoga Mandir Trust run by Patanjali Yog Peeth, and also of the limited companies run under the banner of Patanjali assembled to celebrate India's 70th Independence Day on Monday.
lauding the Prime Minister's courage of conviction, Ramdev said that it was high time that the country took concrete steps to take back the "Adhikrit evam vivadit" (captured and disputed land).
Mocking at the flippancy of Pakistan saying that it would capture Kashmir at any cost, the Baba said it sounded funny. "We get amused and amazed over Pakistan's audacity to declare its objective of dismembering India by snatching away Kashmir from her," he said. He further said that he had appealed to Modi to take stern steps to eliminate the terrorist network operating against India from the soil of Pakistan.
Championing the cause of Swadeshi, Ramdev asked the workers of his industrial units to participate in the Swadeshi movement by ousting the products made by the multi-national companies from their households.
Citing the examples of advertisements misleading the people by the foreign brands like Unilever's life Buoy soap, Ramdev said no one would turn healthy by bathing with a soap. "Rather health depends on the intake of milk and ghee," he said.
He also took a dig at 'Adidas' and 'Nike', asking the people not to become their slaves. "Our watchword is Swadeshi," he said.
