Inclement weather has forced changes in the State Congress chief, Pritam Singh’s itinerary in course of his ongoing ‘Parivartan Yatra’ on Tuesday.
The much-touted ‘yatra’ of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief which kick started from Hanol in Chakrata, Dehradun from Monday was to arrive at Chinyalisaur and Uttarkashi on January 23 while on January 24 and 25, the yatra was to travel through Lambgaon, Ghansali, Chamba and Tehri.
All these areas are currently under spell of heavy rain and snow due to which the Congress leadership decided to postpone the yatra in these areas for the time being.
Informing about the decision, the state party vice- president Surya Kant Dhasmana said on Tuesday that the PCC chief Pritam Singh would attend Ganga Arti programme on January 25 at Muni Ki Reti in Rishikesh as planned earlier.
He said that the areas where the yatra was scheduled to pass through, postponed now due to the inclement weather, would be covered under the second phase of the yatra.
Dhasmana said that the programme of the second phase and other phases would soon be released.
The five -phased yatra, meant to highlight the all-round failure of the Centre and the
State government, would travel extensively, covering all five Lok Sabha constituencies of Uttarakhand.
