Alleging rigging in the test for applicants for the post of village development officer conducted by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (Airy) central head Pushpesh Tripathi said that these tests should be cancelled and a high level inquiry be conducted into the allegations of rigging. Addressing the media at the party office here on Wednesday, Tripathi said that even before the latest case of alleged rigging in these tests, there had been complaints of rigging and corruption in other competitive examinations.
The unemployed youth of the State have also been demanding inquiry into such alleged malpractices but the authorities have done little so far towards conduct of inquiry into the alleged malpractices. The unemployed youth of Uttarakhand are feeling as if they have cheated which is raising the level of angst among the public, especially the youth, said Tripathi.
The UKD chief further said, “Successive Governments formed by both the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress are responsible for the level of deterioration experienced in the State. This is a cause for major concern with the actions of BJP and Congress being responsible for the murder of democracy in Uttarakhand. This is also the cause for considerable disquiet among the people of the State. In order to expose the corrupt politics of both the Congress and BJP in the public, the UKD will begin a public contact programme with the slogan ‘Uttarakhand Baachao Uttarakhand Basao’ from April 25. We will start this State-wide campaign from the development block level for which party members have been appointed in-charge Assembly constituency-wise.”
“The State of Uttarakhand has seen eight Chief Ministers in 16 years of its existence so far. Both the Congress and BJP are responsible for the situation that resulted in imposition of president’s rule in Uttarakhand,” said Tripathi.
He further questioned why the land, rivers and other natural resources belonging to the people of Uttarakhand are under the control of dealers and capitalists. Stressing that Gairsain is the people’s State capital, he questioned the reason for preparations being made in Raipur, Dehradun for construction of an assembly building.
