State Women's helpline in-charge Additional SP Mamta Vohra has been assigned to investigate a case of mysterious death of a medical college student, Ajali Sharma. The student died after falling from a roof of Seema Dental Medical College on February 12. Mamta will be assisted by sub-inspectors Neelam Rawat, Sunil Panwar and Sant Singh Jiyal.
Anjali's father Rajeev Mohan Sharma had registered a complaint, alleging that some students were responsible for his daughter's death in Rishikesh police station and a case (31/2045) under section 306 of IPC was registered against unidentified persons. Dehradun DIG/SSP Pushpak Jyoti had requested the senior police officers to appoint ASP Vohra to probe the case, it is learnt.
