The residents of the several areas of the city are having sleepless nights due to the frequent power cuts, courtesy Uttarakhand Power Corporation limited (UPCl). The power cuts in some areas drag for hours together. However, the UPCl officials claimed that there is no power cut in the State. Their defense is that power cuts of some few minutes duration may occur at some places due to technical fault at local level. At Salawala, Raipur, Rajpur Road, Nehru Colony, Haridwar bypass, Haridwar Road, Rajpur Road and other places, power outages went on for several hours at a stretch on Thursday.
