In a case of alleged attempt of kidnapping of a 12-year-old girl in Bageshwar district on Monday evening, the police are yet to complete the investigation on the complaint filed by the victim’s parents.

In charge of Rima police post, Jeevan Singh Chuphal said, “We have received a complaint, on the basis of which we are doing our investigation. CCTV footage and the vehicles matching with the description in the statement given by the victim are also being checked. We will take further actions accordingly.” According to the official sources, the police have not found movement of any suspicious vehicle at the alleged crime scene. The case might be that of personal animosity.

However, the investigation at present is based in the complaint filed by victim’s guardians. According to the complaint filed by victim’s parents, on Monday evening the minor went to a nearby shop at around 7 pm, during which two men tried to kidnap her. One of them kept his hand on her mouth so that she does not shout, while another one tried to push her towards a nearby car where a third person was present.

Feeling trapped the girl bit one on the hand and ran from there shouting. On hearing the ruckus the accused rushed away from the place.
