Talking to The Pioneer, Harrawala police post in-charge Manjul Rawat said that the police have cracked the case. “We have nabbed a few suspects and during interrogation Deepak, who runs a small eatery at Harrawala Chowk, has confessed that he murdered Nafeez because he used to verbally abuse him regularly during business hours at his outlet. On suspicion, we had picked up a dozen locals and later, released five persons.”
Deepak further confessed that on Saturday evening he (Nafeez) came to his home and started abusing him in front of a visiting relative, so he could not tolerate his anger, Rawat added. He immediately overpowered him with the help of others and strangulated him to death using a jute sack. He kept the dead body in his house during Saturday night and went to see off his relative in night.
“On Sunday morning, he returned to his rented accommodation where he committed his offense and put the body in a sack and dumped it outside a shop. As it was raining so nobody noticed his action. Others involved in the murder are yet to be arrested,” said Rawat.
