Haridwar police made fool-proof security arrangements to ensure that Bhagwanpur Assembly by-polls slated on April 11 are conducted in fair manner.
Haridwar SSP Sweety Aggarwal said that all the security related preparations have been completed to conduct free and fair by-polls in Bhagwanpur Assembly seat.
The district police have identified 21 polling centres as sensitive while 36 centres as ultra sensitive in the poll-bound areas.
The duties have already been assigned to police officers and police personnel. They have been directed to execute their duty effectively. The police officers have been directed to take action against those who would be caught violating laws during the electioneering. Srtict action will be taken against those police personnel who will be caught negligent on duty, she warned.
Aggarwal further said that along with local police, half of the Central forces will be deployed at the ultra sensitive polling centres. We would deploy a sub-inspector there to maintain peace during polling. Six mobile parties have been formed and they will conduct vigil in the poll-bound areas.
At inter-State border barriers, one sub-inspector, four constables, four PRD jawans and one section of central forces will be deployed on the polling day.
At each of the police stations at Kaliyar, Bhagwanpur and Jhabreda, one platoon of Central forces, one sub-inspector, two head constables and 10 constables will be kept on reserve on the polling day and they will act on emergency calls in the poll-bound areas.
SSP Aggarwal further said that one additional SP, three circle officers, eight inspectors, 115 sub-inspectors, 50 head-constables, 700 constables, 200 home guards, 200 PRD jawans, five companies of PAC and five companies of Central forces will be deployed at various polling stations under Bhagwanpur Assembly constituency to conduct free, fair and transparent by-polls.
Police briefing will be held on April 10 and police teams will be deployed at their assigned posts the same day, she added.
