The Vidhan Sabha session, scheduled from March 24 to March 29, being expected to see protests in its course, Dehradun police have drafted traffic plan on Wednesday to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the city roads.
SP Traffic DS Gunjyal said that barricades have been installed at Pragati Vihar, Shastri Nagar, Bypass and Defence Colony. He said that vehicles going towards Haridwar from Dehradun will be diverted at Fountain Chowk, Nehru Colony and would follow the route as Pulia number -6, Kidduwala, Raiur Road, Maharana Pratap Sports College, Balawala, Miyawala and Haridwar. The vehicles going towards Haridwar/Rishikesh/Tehri/Chamoili will follow the routes as EC Road, Nehru Colony, Fountain Chowk, Pulia number-6, Nehrugram, Kidduwala, Tunwala, Balawala, Miyawala and Harrawala. Vehicles going towards ISBT from Mussoorie/Rajpur would follow the route as Rajpur Road, Clock Tower, Saharanpur Road and ISBT. Vehicles going towards Mussoorie from Mohkampur will follow the route as Jogiwala, Ring road, ladpur, Sahastradhara crossing, IT Park and Mussoorie. Vehicles coming from Mohkampur for Dehradun city will follow the routes as Jogiwala, Pulia number 6, Nehru Colony, Araghar, EC Road and Dehradun city.
During the time the diversion would be in force, vehicles coming from Rispana for Dehradun city will follow the route as Haridwar bypass and Kargi Chowk.
Bike riders have been advised not to follow the routes of Meenakshi wedding point and Nehru Colony gate to spare the area traffic congestion.
Heavy vehicles will use the Dudhli route. Vehicles going towards Doiwala from ISBT will be diverted at Kargi Chowk for Dudhali. Vehicles coming from Doiwala for Dehradun will go through Dudhli.
City buses going towards Dehradun will be diverted at Jogiwala and take a u- turn at Kailash Hospital. Commercial vehicles going towards Defence Colony follow the route as Nehru Colony police station crossing and will be diverted towards the old bypass chowki.
