Police draft traffic plan

SUNIl KUMAR

Contrary to the assurance given by leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt during the all-party meeting that his party would help the House run smoothly, BJP MlAs created chaos by gheraoing ruling party members during the Budget Session, giving clear indications that this session will be stormy like the previous one.

BJP MlAs met on Tuesday evening to firm up their strategy vis-à-vis the crucial Budget Session slated to begin on Wednesday. The MlAs decided to rake up the issue of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat's former Secretary Mohammad Shahid seeking financial help from

liquor barons on behalf of the CM in lieu of awarding tenders. Shahid's meeting with the barons was purportedly caught on camera.

The BJP MlAs alleged that the Uttarakhand Government patronizes the land, liquor and mining mafia and lets bureaucrats be bullied by them just to ensure smooth flow of funds during the upcoming State Assembly elections.

Apart from this, the Nari Niketan issue is set to rock the House again as the BJP MlAs plan to tear into the ruling party for giving a clean chit to the troubled shelter for distressed women by none other than the State Congress chief and the State Women's Congress president.

Also, the issue of State Government officials seizing 4,400 sacks of rice from godowns owned by some State Congress leaders is likely to be brought up to embarrass the ruling Congress further.

Besides, the issues of Indira Amma Canteen, the Great Khali Returns show, PWD scam, SIDCUl land scam, Kedarnath scam and other problems like the Maletha stone crushers are all set to be brought into focus during the Session, a BJP MlA said.
