Pauri Police has registered a case against five people, including the wife and brother-in-law of one Anand Kandari (31), who died of poisoning on Sunday night. Police acted on the report lodged by the victim’s father Girdhari Singh in Pauri police Kotwali against five persons, alleging that they had provoked his son to take his own life.
Police registered a case against the accused under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code. The Kotwali in-charge Chandra Mohan Singh is investigating the case, it is learnt.
According to police, Anand Kandari, resident of Kolakandi village, who is reported to have consumed poison on Sunday was brought to the district hospital Pauri. He died while he was being administered treatment. His father lodged a report in the police Kotwali against his wife Santoshi Devi, his brother- in- law Ripudaman, residents of Uffalda village, Champa Devi, Prateema and Vishal Pundir for instigating his son to take his own life.
Investigating officer Chandra Mohan Singh told The Pioneer that investigation has been started into the matter.
