PNS

Under the special drive launched by the District police administration, the Pauri senior superintendent of police Jagat Ram Joshi met 70 senior citizens and differently abled persons at their residence in village Kasunder on Sunday and enquired about the problems they were facing. He also presented shawls to the old women he met on the occasion.

Apart from this, police men and women from the rank of constable to the rank of officers also met over 827 persons both from the urban and rural areas of the district in the different parts of the district on Friday. The drive launched by the district police on the instructions of senior superintendent of police Joshi has been appreciated by the citizens with the people coming forward to interact with the police personnel. This initiative of the police has generated public goodwill towards the men and women in uniform especially among the senior citizens and residents of rural areas.

According to information provided by official sources, as part of the drive which was launched in the month of August this year, more than three thousand senior citizens and differently-abled people have been met by the police personnel, who visited them at their residence to know the problems they are facing. The interaction as part of the special drive is held on a monthly basis.

It is pertinent to mention here that the drive launched by the police is meant to identify the elderly persons who are living alone or forced to live alone and to understand the problems the senior citizens are facing in terms of security and other issues. The senior citizens-especially the old women, whom the police personnel visited are happy with the initiative, stating that they are feeling secure considering that the police are taking care of them. Apart from the senior citizens, the police personnel are also happy with the move initiated by SSP. They say that it would create a positive and constructive feeling of the people towards the police force as with this drive they know that the police personnel are near them, accessible and always ready to help them out of their problems.
