The district administration Pithoragarh has expressed concern over illegal mining, directing the officials to strictly deal with those engaged in the same in the district.
Holding a meeting of different departments, including the revenue, Shushil Kumar, District Magistrate, Pithoragarh, said that that illegal mining would not be brooked.
Keeping in view the reports of illegal mining coming in, the DM asked the officials to conduct raids at illegal mining prone areas so that such illegal activities could be prevented.
Besides, the district administration also directed the officials to cancel the permits of the vehicles which are used in the illegal mining activities.
