The locals of Dehradun can complain to or request necessary assistance from the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) through the control room number issued by district administration—0135- 2726066- as the corporation's helpline number is not working. People have been complaining for weeks that the helpline number of MCD is not working due to which several locals are unable to complain about various issues in their area during the lockdown. "We wanted to complain about the sanitation workers in our area who just pile up the garbage near the colony and do not pick it up for many days. I tried to call the helpline number and others mentioned on the corporation's site but I got no response from there, " said Shanti Vihar resident Sunita Vishwakarma.
Talking about it, deputy municipal commissioner Rohitash Sharma said that after the lockdown was announced due to novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the MCD's helpline number was closed. He further informed that the corporation is getting the complaints through the control room number issued by district administration. "We get the requests and complaints about cleaning or sanitation through the district control room number. All the complaints received for municipal corporation are sent to us," said Sharma. He added that people can contact the control room number of district administration for their queries or complaints regarding the corporation.
