Pauri district magistrate Chandra Sekhar Bhatt instructed all the department officers to spend the money released by way of the district plan fully by the end of February. He also asked them to work on war–footing regarding works related to drinking water, roads, health, power and social welfare while monitoring the district plan in a meeting held in Vikash Bhawan at district headquarters Pauri on Wednesday. He said that the budget of financial year 2014-15 has not been fully spent in several departments like still irrigation, Jal Sansthan, roads and bridge, minor irrigation and culture.
DM sounded annoyed over the absence of some of the department officers at the district plan meetings and said that they would not brook such things and actions would be taken against the errant officers. Attendance is mandatory, he stressed.
Bhatt wondered why the money released in the budget has not yet been spent fully by different departments. Few officers explained things in terms of the strike of the treasury employees. At this , Bhatt advised the officers to coordinate with the officers concerned in the treasury to resolve matters. He emphasized that the aim of the district plan being to redress the problems of the common people, no laid-back attitude would be tolerated. Bhatt also sounded angry over the snail’s pace with which the works of house construction has been going on. He said the poor pace is delaying the process of handing over official residences to the officers and the employees. He said that the performance in Indra Aawas Yojana and health are poor too and instructed the departments to improve the performance. DM also asked for it being brought in A category of 20- point programme.
Among others, chief development officer Harak Singh Rawat, DDO Ved Prakash and DFO Ramesh Chandra were present at the meeting.
