Despite the order of National Green Tribunal regarding the disposal of garbage and waste products as per MSW Act, the Municipal Council Pauri has failed to comply with the order and consequently, garbage and waste products are still being seen scattered in the different parts of the district headquarters Pauri.

Taking the cognizance of the scattered garbage and waste products in the different parts of the Pauri town, Commissioner C S Napalchayal strictly instructed to Executive Officer Pauri Municipal Board that the recycling plant for the disposal of garbage should be installed. The Executive Officer assured the Commissioner that the plant would be installed in September as the recycling plant had been dispatched by the Ahmadabad company. Pauri District Magistrate Chandra Shekhar Bhatt expressed anger over garbage and waste products of the district headquarter Pauri being not dealt with rightly during a press conference convened on Swachchh Bharat Movement on October  1. He asked the Executive Officer why the construction work had not been started for the disposal of garbage in the land provided by the revenue department. Executive Officer is said to have told him that the land has not yet been transferred to the Municipal Board. District Magistrate instructed the construction work for disposal of garbage be completed shortly.

Former president, Municipal Board Pauri Jaspal Singh Negi said while the nation is involved in the Clean India Mission the Pauri Municipal Board has remained indifferent towards the cleanliness of the town and disposal of garbage and waste products.
