Pauri district administration and the district cultural department are now busy with making preparations for the Harela Parva festival slated on July 15.
Pauri district magistrate Chandra Shekhar Bhatt said that three competitions will be held on the eve of Harella Parva. The Harella competition will be held at the gram panchayat level, he said, adding that all the block development officers have been instructed to organise the competition.
At the gram panchayat level, the women who would be adjudged the best for Harella will be given `500 per month for one year by way of award.
Bhatt said that all the block development officers have been instructed to send teams of Mahella Mangal Dal and Yuvak Mangal Dal to participate in the Jhumallo dance competition which will be organised in Pauri under Aaoo Manayee Harella, Gaayee Jhumallo on July 15.
Another competition organised on the Harella Parva will be the traditional Pahari Vyanjan. The local women participating in the competition will be given `1000 per group.
