Party workers join celebrations after victory

PNS

Celebrations erupted in State party office of BJP on Thursday after the party secured victory in Tharali assembly by- poll. In the initial trends the BJP candidate Munni Devi Shah had taken a lead over her Congress rival Jeet Ram which enthused the party workers and leaders. Many leaders including the party in charge of Tharali and Minister of State Dhan Singh Rawat and party leaders like Virendra Bisht, Sanjay Kumar and Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ arrived early in the party office and remained glued to the TV set.

The party workers came into the celebratory mode when Munni Devi increased her lead to about 2000 voters. The enthusiasm quickly turned into anxiety as in eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh rounds Jeet Ram consistently reduced the margin. However the anxiety quickly turned into celebrations when from round number 13 it became clear that Munni Devi would win the seat handsomely.

The workers started congratulating each other and sweets were distributed. When it became clear that Munni Devi has won the seat, the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and President of the State unit of BJP Ajay Bhatt also arrived in the party office and joined party workers in celebrating the victory.

A visibly relieved CM attributed the victory to the hard work of the party workers. He said that the people have put their stamp on the works done by the State Government in last one and half year and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the question of decrease in the victory margin of the BJP candidate the CM held the low polling percentage responsible for it.

He, however, added that the victory is victory and said that the people have reposed faith in BJP. Rawat said that his Government would concentrate on development of Tharali. Congratulating the party workers and leaders the state BJP President Ajay Bhatt said that Tharali results are victory of the polices of the State Government.

He said that the Congress party leaders did every possible effort to malign the party by divisive politics but they failed miserably.

Bhatt said that victory has also showed faith of people on Narendra Modi Government.
