The detailed project report on the multipurpose Pancheshwar dam project on the Indo-Nepal border has been prepared. Construction of 21 Ghats in Uttarakhand will be completed by WAPCOS Limited by December 2018. Simultaneously, work on 15 small hydro projects is also underway and is expected to be completed soon.
Preparation of the detailed project report on flood protection works along the Rispana and Bindal rivers in Dehradun is in its final phase. Officials of WAPCOS Limited met the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat regarding these works at the CM residence here on Friday.
The officials informed him that the DPR of the multipurpose hydro power project on the Indo-Nepal border- Pancheshwar dam project has been prepared.
Other works pertaining to the forest and environmental clearance are in progress. The officials averred that the locals are viewing the project in a positive manner.
The benefit of the project will also be for gravity-based water supply in Udham Singh Nagar district, in addition to the power generation and irrigation of a large area.
The Chief Minister assured the officials of WAPCOS Limited that the state government will provide all possible assistance and cooperation to them.
