The Dehradun district magistrate Ravinath Raman inaugurated the Dalanwala branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce in Dehradun on Thursday in the presence of the bank’s regional head SK Dhal and other employees of the bank. The bank’s regional head informed the gathering that this was the 75 branch of the bank in the State.
At present the Oriental Bank of Commerce has a total business of more than Rs5,000 crore in Uttarakhand. The OBC has also been facilitating Financial literacy Credit Counselling (FlCC) at Vikasnagar to encourage credit and raise awareness on banking among the public. It is also managing the Rural Self Employment Training Institute at Shankarpur to train the public in self-employment, said the bank officials on the occasion.
