All the gas agencies were directed to organise camps to distribute Direct Benefit Transfer for lPG (DBTl) Scheme forms among the customers and to collect the filled-up forms in their jurisdictions on Sunday, said Dhirendra Kumar, manager (lPG-sales), Indian Oil Corporation limited Dehradun Area Office on Monday.

Recently, Premier Gas agency, Dehradun had organised a camp in its area and distributed DBTl scheme forms among the customers and collected their filled -up forms.

All the lPG connection holders have been asked to provide their bank accounts and mobile phone numbers to their gas agency so that cash subsidy on cooking gas could be directly transferred under DBTl scheme in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries after January 1, 2015.

He said that the subsidy will be transferred to those consumers who will provide bank accounts to their gas agency.

As per the instruction received from the Central Government, the cash subsidy on cooking gas will be transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Customers will be debarred from the scheme if they fail to submit their bank accounts within the grace period to their gas agency.

According to him, all domestic lPG consumers will get an advance in their bank accounts as soon as they book the first subsidised cylinder before delivery. As soon as the first subsidised cylinder is delivered to such consumers, the next subsidy will again get credited in their bank accounts, which can then be available for the purchase of the next subsidised cylinder at market rate.

Notably, there are about 16 lakh lPG consumers across Uttarakhand out of which around three lakh consumers have submitted the scheme forms so far. Around 25 per cent of the customers in Haridwar submitted forms to their agencies while the figures are 12 per cent for Rudraprayag, 10 for Tehri, 17 for Udham Singh Nagar, 26 for Champawat, 25 for Dehradun, 12 for Pithoragarh, six for Chamoli, 18 for Nainital and 10 for Uttarkashi respectively.

lPG consumers would receive subsidy in their bank accounts by linking Aadhar numbers to their bank accounts. However, the consumers who do not have Aadhar number can receive subsidy directly to their bank accounts without the use of Aadhar number, he added.
