The district social welfare department, Nainital has urged the people, particularly the beneficiaries of the pension schemes meant for the elderly, the differently-abled and the like, to open their bank accounts only in core banking service (CBS)— equipped banks.
This is because the accounts opened in non- CBS banks are causing difficulty in transferring the monthly pension scheme amounts.Since it is causing difficulties for us to transfer the pension amounts to the non-CBS bank accounts, the beneficiaries of the different pension schemes are, therefore, advised to open bank accounts only in CBS- equipped banks, said the officials concerned of the district social welfare department, Nainital.More so, the beneficiaries are supposed to provide the photocopies of their bank accounts as early as possible so that next installments of their pensions could be deposited in their CBS bank accounts in due course of time through online system, they added. At the same time, the officials concerned have also made it clear to the beneficiaries that joint accounts will not be allowed to transfer the pension amount.
