While police were groping in the dark to identify the fraudsters the girl friend of one of the arrested helped them unwittingly to nab them. A police officer probing the case said they had rather accidentally stumbled on a mobile number used by the accused to talk to his paramour.
Police first traced the girl and based on information provided by her, they managed to arrest the accused.
