The Jan Sangharsh Morcha (JSM) head Raghunath Singh Negi has alleged that one of those recently appointed advisors to the Chief Minister is an accused in a bank fraud case.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Negi alleged that one of those appointed Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s advisors had amassed wealth amounting to many crores of rupees through fraud in the past 10-15 years. He averred, “It was on the basis of this wealth that he was able to secure the position of an advisor in the state government. This person is very close to the chief minister and has no connection by far with the party.”
Negi informed, “In the year 2000, a person had stolen a bank draft book from the Vikasnagar branch of Canara Bank. Using forged signature, the person got dozens of drafts cashed from the Mumbai branch of the bank and it is from that time that he started his business. It is on the basis of his wealth that this person has today established business and social relations with various BJP leaders,” the JSM chief further alleged. He further opined that appointment of such persons to positions in the State Government was questionable when the BJP state government is talking about zero tolerance towards corruption. The JSM will start an agitation against such aspects of the state government while also demanding a probe into the relations the person in question has fostered with those in the Government. The governor of the state will also be approached with this issue, added Negi.
