After receiving assurance from top bureaucrats, the agitated staff nurses have called off their nine day long agitation on Tuesday. The staff nurses have also threatened to intensify their agitation if their demands are not met by the State Health Department in the given time frame.

The agitated staff nurses have decided to call off their agitation as three-year long pending demands were fulfilled by the State Government.  The delegation of Uttarakhand Nurses  Services Association had bilateral talk with the principal secretary and after Government orders were issued on three year long pending demands of Association, the agitators have decided to call off their agitation, but also threatened to start their agitation if their other year long pending demands were not fulfilled by the State Government in period of three months.

After expressing her concern over the callous approach of the state health department for not redressing the year long pending demands of the association, Anjana Bhaumick, State president confirmed that the agitated staff nurses have decided to call off their agitation after receiving assurance that their demands would be fulfilled in the given time frame.

“Series of memorandum was submitted many times to top bureaucrats but no step was taken by them to fulfill their pending demands,” she said, adding that the members were in the mood of decisive show but decided to call off their agitation after receiving assurance from the top health department officials.
