If things go as per schedule, public rallies and meetings during the lok Sabha elections 2014 in Udham Singh Nagar district will be under the vigil of State-of-the-art quadcopter.

A demonstration was done by the experts in Udham Singh Nagar on Friday on how the modern technology fitted quadcopter could help ensure better videography and photography of political rallies and meetings during the election campaign ahead. Impressed with the performance shown by the said quadcopter, the district administration has now decided to seek permission of the Election Commission of India to deploy the quadcopter for coverage of political activities including political rallies and meetings in the district ahead.

This technology could be more effective to keep an eye on the political activities like political rallies and meetings, said Pankaj Kumar Pandey, District Magistrate, Udham Singh Nagar, after observing the performance of the quadcopter at the district collectorate campus on Friday. “We would write to the Election Commission of India, seeking permission for using services of quadcopter for videography and photography of the political activities. If permission is granted by the Election Commission of India, we would introduce this technology for coverage of public rallies and meetings in the district,” added Kumar.

As the experts informed this quadcopter can do videography and photography in a kilometre area and can fly above up to 10,000 feet.
