The recently inaugurated outlet of Purkal Stree Shakti Samiti called “Purkal” at a hotel in Dehradun has been  drawing huge footfalls of customers from day one, claimed the CEO of the samiti, Chinni Swamy. Purkal has been vending not just handmade household and fashion products but organic products such as tea, herbal facepacks and oil which are coming from Kullu in Himachal Pradesh.  They are being sold at reasonable prices too, Swamy said.

“Around 120 customers came to the outlet on the first day. The response is good. It would even be better in the  coming days,” Swamy said.  “Apart from the handmade products, we have printed mugs with our designs embossed on them. Another thing we have is the ‘Ajrakh’ printed Dupattas and stoles designed by the artisans from Gujarat . We serve South Indian mixtures too. The customers like them,” she said.

“Enthused by the response, we are now planning to bring our homemade mixtures for sale,” said Swamy. Organic stuffs being sold from our store are being provided to us by a self-help  group  which is based in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh,” she said.
