The newly elected President of the Provincial Medical Health Association (PMHS), Dr D P Joshi has listed unconditional implementation of Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) and transfer of health facilities to private players under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode as some of his priorities. Dr Joshi was unanimously elected on the coveted post of the President of the association on Saturday.

A former General Secretary (GS) of the powerful association of government doctors of the state health services Dr Joshi enjoys a good reputation. While talking to The Pioneer the newly elected President said that ensuring quality, health and safe services would remain his motto. He said that the state government has implemented a conditional DACP for the doctors of the state health services.

The DACP means assured increase in grade pay of the doctors after 4, 9, 13 and 20 years of the service. Dr Joshi said that the PMHS wants that the all conditions like minimum service period in the mountainous locations should be removed from the ambit of DACP and it should be implemented across the board without any discrimination. He said that the PMHS would also oppose handing over of the government hospitals located in plain areas of the state to the private players under the PPP mode. If the government wants then it can hand over the hospitals located in the remote and mountainous areas under the PPP mode, he added.
