State Health Minister and Minister in-charge of Almora district Surendra Singh Negi reviewing progress of various developmental works at the district plan meeting in Almora on Thursday, emphasised on the need to expedite the pace of ongoing construction works so that developmental projects could be completed on time.
At the same time, the State Health Minister also directed the Almora District Magistrate to conduct an enquiry into alleged irregularities that have surfaced in the construction of a primary health centre at Dhaulchhina in Almora and directed the official concerned to take necessary action against erring officials and contractor associated with the construction of this primary health centre.
He also asked the officials concerned of the PWD to expedite works on the lodhiya-Chaumu Road and the Suyalbari bridge.
More so, stressing on the timely completion of the ongoing developmental projects, the Minister directed the Superintending Engineer, PWD, to review progress of these aforesaid projects in every fortnight. At the same time, he also expressed his unhappiness over delay in completion of the Dewalikhan pumping project and directed the officials concerned of the peyjal nigam to complete the said project as early as possible.
Reviewing the rural electrification works in the district, the minister in charge of Almora district also expressed his disappointment over delay in connecting some of the villages of Dhauladevi block including Tapni, Sirani, Sailako under the Tarula hydro power project by the UREDA. He also directed the District Magistrate Almora to conduct an enquiry into this matter.
Meanwhile, the minister also asked the officials concerned of various departments particularly the peyjal nigam, health, social welfare, PWD, jal sasthan to name a few to ensure timely utilisation of funds allotted to their respective departments. In the meantime, the minister also called upon the officials concerned of different executive agencies to maintain quality of the developmental works.
