Demanding CBI inquiry in what he alleges a Rs 240 crore scam in the State power corporations, the former convener of the State working committee of Aam Aadami Party (AAP) in Uttarakhand, Anoop Nautiyal submitted a letter directed to CBI chief at the local office.
Nautiyal, who recently resigned from the post of State convener of AAP, led some of the AAP workers to the office of Superintendent of Police (SP) CBI, Sujit Kumar and handed over the letter. In the letter Nautiyal said that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India had objected the act of opening bids of Rs 240 crore tender on different dates in Power Corporation.
The letter alleges that the price bid of Ms larson and Turbo Company was opened on January 16, 2014 while the price bid of Ms Feeder lloyds was opened on January 18 which is against the Government policy and comes under category of cyber crime.
Nautiyal claimed that the CAG in its report had raised serious objection on this
discrepancy and sought an explanation from UPCl. The delegation also handed over the relevant documents to the CBI. Nautiyal said that the premier investigation agency of the
country should promptly take action on the complaint so that the culprits are put behind the bars.
He said that he also
contemplating to file a Public Interest litigation (PIl) in the High Court on the issue. The delegation included Ranveer Chaudhary, Pooja Bhalla, Hemlata Pant, Sunita Singh, Ajay Painyuli and others.
