A national meeting on recent disaster in Kedarnath will be organised here on Sunday at the initiation of Department of Science and Technology (DST) Government of India.
The DST secretary, Dr T Ramasami will preside over the meeting which will be convened by the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology director Anil K Gupta. Uttarakhand chief secretary Subhash Kumar and various State Government officers of departments concerned are expected to be present.
In addition to the members of various national and international disaster management agencies, more than 57 experts from 28 departments/universities, institutions/NGOs of State and national level will have detailed discussion on the subject, especially on mapping and damage assessment, in order to facilitate effective mitigation in the future.
