Come this Saturday and the Queen of Hills will reverberate with melodies to feed local village children; as the Rokeby Manor hosts the 2nd Bug Gig — a fundraiser  for Garhwal English Medium School.

Following on the roaring success of its inaugural edition, Mussoorie is hosting the international music festival ‘The Big Gig’ bigger than last year. Organized by Woodstock School, the pulsating event will be held at the idyllic Rokeby Highlands, a heritage resort that was once home to the famous Raja Wilson of Harsil. One of the biggest music festivals held in the Queen of Hills, the music fest will showcase an interesting variety of genres with American country, blues and pop among others. The event is likely to draw a huge local audience comprising Mussoorie’s elite in addition to the Woodstock community and music lovers from Delhi. The bands slated to perform at the show include the Accidentals, American folk duo Abe and Bethany Okie, blues ensemble Bootleg Browns as well as an acappella group from Woodstock School.

While keeping the flavor of its maiden edition, this year’s Big Gig incorporates a greater assortment of musicians from across the world. Proceeds from the music fest will be used to provide meals to over hundreds of children of Garhwal English Medium School for one year. The school provides education to 250 village children up-to grade 6.

Held on a hill-top in the breath-taking environs of Rokeby Highlands, The Big Gig is a unique opportunity to enjoy brilliant music right amidst the lofty Himalayas, making it an awe-inspiring experience.  Guess it’s time to kick off this summer season at the 2nd Big Gig with a host of live musical acts and that amazing mountain waft.
