: More than 17 lakh persons visited the Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines this year. According to information provided by the BKTC, on Friday when the portals of Kedarnath shrine were closed to the public for winter, 1,785 pilgrims were present.
A total of 7,32,241 pilgrims visited Kedarnath this year. Similarly, since the portals of Badrinath shrine were opened to the public this year, a total of 1028438 devotees have visited the shrine so far. The total number of pilgrims visiting Badrinath this year is expected to rise slightly as the portals of this shrine will be closed to the public on November 20. So far, a total of 1760679 pilgrims have visited Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines this year so far. PNS
