Modi wins students' hearts, minds

PNS

The ideas that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi put forth seem to have inspired a majority of the students who listened to him on the occasion of Teachers’ Day with rapt attention. The PM’s speech and interaction was replete with simple ideas and suggestions which enthused the students.

The students from both rural and urban areas looked exulted that the Prime Minister had decided to address and interact with them. Modi’s assertion that the girls dropping out from studies due to absence of toilets in the schools struck an emotional chord with the girl students from both the rural area as well as from the elite schools of Dehradun.

Ishma Raina, a class XII student of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) ONGC, said that it was unique experience for all the students and the way Modi expressed his ideas and allowed the students to ask questions made him look quite accessible to the students. She said the PM’s speech would help in resurrecting the presently dwindling image and respect of the teachers in the society.

Akash Thapa, a class VI student of Mangla Devi Inter College Karanpur, said that he liked the PM suggesting that there is no alternative to hard work to succeed in life.

Shakshi Rawat, a class X student of Pine Hall School, said that PM’s suggestion that one could serve the nation by doing simple things like curtailing the unnecessary expenditure of electricity in homes inspired her.

Her classmate Isha Sabharwal said the PM hit the mark when he asserted that girls should get more opportunities than the boys and the teachers should set examples by their actions so that the students are inspired from them. An exited Somya Nag Choudhury, a class X student of Scholars’ Home school, said that PM’s speech was simply awesome and it is good for the students of the country that he decided to interact with them. Her class mate Akanksha Gupta said that Modi’s vision for making the country a

developed nation was clearly visible in the speech and he has

projected himself as a great teacher.

Prabhat Kumar, a class XII student of Government Inter College (GIC) Pipalkoti of Dasholi block in Chamoli district, said that PM was correct when he said that mere degrees would not help the students and they should develop the skills in them to excel in life. He said that he and his classmates are inspired by aura the PM emanates.  Nisha Negi, a class VIII student of same school, said she would act on the PM’s advice like rising early in morning, hard work in studies and valuing discipline in life. She added every school in the country should have separate toilet for the girls.  Their teacher K K Dimri informed that the students of the schools had waited excitedly since the morning in the school to view the live telecast of PM’s speech.
